Continuo Theatre (CT) is an international independent theatre company founded by Pavel and Helena Štourač in 1992 and based in the cultural centre of Plum Yard, Malovice, Czech Republic. The artistic research of CT is at the crossroad between physical theatre, objects and puppet theatre, music, voice and rhythm, aiming to reach an authentic, personal connection between the varied languages that coexist on the stage.It is to say that pedagogy in general is a relevant activity for CT. Continuo’s pedagogical projects support the meeting of young, international people, the exchange of diverse perspectives and the cooperation. In more than twenty years, Continuo reached more than 400 art students and practitioners. Continuo workshops are not plain transmission of techniques, but real moment of sharing, led in a non-formal education approach, giving value to practical experience, try-outs and open discussions.

There are different opportunities for the voluntees to take part in:

a) Under the guidance of the CT team the volunteer participates in all activities that are connected
with the production and organizational tasks during the creation, preparation and realization of the
performances.

b) Media and social communication – the volunteer assists the graphic designer during the creation
and distribution of the print materials (posters, flyers) and contributes to the promotion of the
events through social media.

c) Under the guidance of the professionals of CT team the volunteer will take part in all activities
connected with the technical infrastructure of the theatre that enables the artistic as well as the
operational procedures in the theatre.

Seit mehr als 60 Jahren organisieren wir als ijgd Freiwilligendienste im In- und Ausland. Durch die Angebote unseres Vereins haben junge Menschen die Möglichkeit, sich gesellschaftliche Verhältnisse bewusst zu machen. Sie werden dazu angeregt, eigenverantwortlich Entscheidungen zu treffen oder sich für (benachteiligte) gesellschaftliche Gruppen einzusetzen. Dazu gehört auch die Förderung des Verständnisses und der Abbau von Vorurteilen zwischen Angehörigen verschiedener Nationen, sozialer Schichten, Religionen und Weltanschauungen.

Wir sind weltoffen und unabhängig von politischen Parteien oder religiösen Institutionen. Darum lehnen wir gesellschaftliche Verhältnisse ab, die Menschen und Gruppen aufgrund von z.B. Herkunft, Geschlecht, sexueller Orientierung, Behinderung, Alter, ökonomischem Status, Religion benachteiligen oder ausschließen. Unsere Arbeitsgrundsätze lauten aus diesen Gründen: Ökologisches Lernen,Selbstorganisation, Freiwilligkeit, Soziales Lernen, Interkulturelles Lernen, Geschlechtergerechtigkeit und Sexuelle Vielfalt, Antirassismus und Antidiskriminierung und Politische Bildung.
